Workshop Call for Applicants

In order to encourage the cooperation between the filmmakers of Balkan countries and creative forces of the wider Europe, ANCC is pleased to announce the Call for Applicants for the workshop ALBASCRIPT +.

Based on the experience of the local workshop ALBASCRIPT 2016, the newly
formatted ALBASCRIPT + opens up to narrative feature and short films from the filmmakers residing in the Balkan region.

ALBASCRIPT + is a five-day residential workshop that offers the selected Balkan
screenwriters the opportunity to work intensively on their narrative scripts in an environment structured to foster regional collaboration and quality development.

The participants will have hands-on work with script experts with a rich knowledge of regional film scene as well as the co-production prospects in the region. Filmmakers participant are encouraged to strengthen creative partnerships, provide feed back to
their peers and increase the efficiency of the development process.

Each pre-selected project will attend group work as well personalised individual work with international scriptwriting advisors aiming to improve the participants’ skills not only to develop their projects to their utmost potential but also prepare to be effectively present their project at the pitching forum taking place in the end of the workshop.

The workshop will take place in Tirana, Albania, from Monday, October 2, through October 7, 2017.

The accommodations are tucked amidst a quiet retreat only minutes away from the beauty of the newly designed Scanderbeg Square.

All applications must be submitted in English and participants must have a good knowledge of English.

The application includes:
1. A cover latter stating the request for the participation in ALBASCRIPT + and
the expectation from the workshop.
2. Logline
3. Synopsis
4. Properly formatted Script (advanced treatment accepted for feature films)
5. CV of the team (including links to the previous work)
6. Artistic statement
7. Any additional material related to cross region relevance.

Pitch Dates: October 4 – 7

Participants must give official credit to ALBASCRIPT + in the future production of their work, by including an acknowledgement and the ALBASCRIPT + logo in any published rendition of the script, in the project’s website or when applying for additional development labs and funding for the same project.
The credits of the completed film must display ALBASCRIPT + logo and the caption:
“Developed with the support of ALBASCRIPT + ”

All applications will be read and evaluated by a panel comprised of film
professionals. Applicants short-listed by the Committee for consideration in the final round of evaluations may be interviewed by videoconference.
